Alaska Train Tours
One of the most beautiful states in the United States is Alaska. It has pristine mountains that tower over cascading waters and this gives the landscape a wonderful peaceful atmosphere. Therefore, what better way to explore and view this state than by taking one of the Alaska train tours.
There are many to choose from and they have specially created viewing cars that enable the ability to see quite a bit. Lets take a look at some of these tours and discuss a bit about them.
There are both summer as well as winter based tours and this allows a wide variation of viewing pleasure. Although, not all the tours are specifically offered at both seasons. Some will only be run during the summer months since some tracks may have limited movement during the winter.
The Denali and Spencer Glacier Tour is one of the most popular trips. This is a five day tour that will take a person to the Denali National Park and into Devil's Canyon Tour. There is a dinner show as well as lunch provided and one will stay overnight in the various cities along the way. One of which is in the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. It begins in Anchorage and ends with a ride on the Glacier Discovery Train that ends in Portage. One of the best highlights of this tour is the ability to fly around Mt McKinley, which is included in the package. Therefore, this five day and four night package will enable one to see some of the best that Alaska has to offer. But, book early or you will be left out since they fill up very quickly.
The Alaska Indulgence is an eleven night and twelve day trip that begins in Fairbanks and ends in Anchorage. This is a wonderful tour that gives one some time to explore along the way. For example, on day two, one will pull into Denali and stay for two days at the Denali Backwoods Lodge. This allows one to either hunt of fish and even allows one the ability to pan for gold. This is a place that is a welcome relief to the typical fast paced world considering its solitude. Then it is off to the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge for a night. During days five and six, one will stay at a couple of other lodges and will be flown to them. These specific plane rides are included in the package and provided along the way too. One also gets to stay on Fox island in their very own cabin that is directly on the seaside. There is basically so much included in this package that it would be very hard to describe it all.
So, if you would like to take a tour of the largest state and the beauty it provides, by all means, consider one of the many Alaska train tours.
